children of tomorrow will celebrate soon its 10 years anniversary. the label was created by emmanuel ternois back in the day and being joined by arnaud le texier in 2011. since then they focused on techno producing amazing artists, to name few: terrence dixon, zadig, tensal, antigone, oscar mulero, jonas kopp, samuli kemppi etc... children of tomorrow is now presenting the first album from arnaud le texier. after almost 30 years dj-ing around the world and almost 20 years producing. signing many releases over the years and always busy delivering dance floor releases, it s been a long wait to finally get an album from arnaudon his first album we can feel that he wanted to tell a story and to express something deeper with his production experience. there is a different variety of techno that stretches from ambient / broken beat / hypnotic / raw techno along with subtles grooves, wondrous atmospheres & sonic textures. on a side the album opens with dusk, an ambient atmospheric mid-tempo track with sonic sounds that is a perfect intro.pattern 2 starts with drones and blip sounds and a broken beat groove follows with a pad that sounds like a voice coming from the space. the track ends with some modular click sounds that make the whole track clever. followed by the album title granular therapy, a deep techno track with modular bass line and melancholic pad. a perfect track to play in after or to warm up a party.the b side is more dedicated to the dance floor with black nympheas that is a proper dark modern techno with a grinding bass line and magic drones. a simple beat makes the track evolve in a nice way. blade pass frequency is 4/4 effective techno with a 909 kick, a syncope acid bass line and a pad that sends you to another dimension. it is a powerful track but with a sense of deepness and sensibility that arnaud can achieve sometimes. this side closes with binary sun dawn which is an ambient track with melody that has a jazz feeling mixed with dark atmospheres, sonic drones and water drops. the c side opens with mono driver, a minimal track with a little synth that stays until the end repetitively until it makes you travel and lose your mind. deep and dance floor at the same time.

cassegrain announce collaborative ep. the berlin based duo of alex tsiridis & hüseyin evirgen will release new work recorded alongside dj nobu, tensal & lady starlight via their own arcing seas imprint in september. leaning towards the more heady, high octane end of the genre - the three track ep showcases the duos natural affinity for collaboration, maintaining evirgen & tsiridis characteristic finish and atten-tion to detail, whilst providing ample space for the guests to properly colour the work. ct01, alongside tensal, marries caustic drones with a potent lead sequence to produce a perfect peak time roller, whilst cn01, with dj nobu, riffs on a more melodic, stepping approach - maintaining that same rousing energy, but with a more psychedelic bent. cls01, the duos collaboration with la-dy starlight comes in at almost 11 minutes, an ambient techno journey that warps and shifts organi-cally across its extended run time - complete with beat-less intro and multiple segues that work to bind the piece and its different sections into one, cohesive narrative. effective and impeccably produced - but with a keen ear for new & exciting sonics within the genre - this first collaborative outing proves an enviable addition to the duos already impressive discogra-phy.

alma negra are back on heist! after their much applauded 2017 release with that great soulphiction remix, theyve been rather busy taking over the scene. they started their new label alma negra records where they released 3 eps in quick succession, with new as well as older material that showcases their tropical roots and keen ear for clubby reworks. they launched their live show, doing gigs across europe with a highlight at one of londons more intimate live venues: the jazz cafe. their latest outing making their release count a total of 4 in only 8 months was on marcel vogel’s lumberjacks in hell and explored the more live / rework side of their project. now theyre back on heist with 3 new tracks, supported by an awanto 3 remix. conversation is a track we wanted to put out on heist badly, simply because it’s a beast of a track. it sits somewhere between a live african drum track, percussive techno and moody midwest electronics, with pads and strings coming in and out of play while a relentless kick drum keeps the energy on a haunting level. this track is alma negra at their filthiest, and it feels like they’ve taken a next step from last years dark and heavy luanda dub, bringing it from an intimate dreamy stage straight into the main room. this is the place shows a different side of the house spectrum with the alma’s love for dreamy deep house. the track flows up and down, with soothing rhodes chords, arpeggios and mumbling vocals setting a summery mood thats perfect for your warm up or daytime party. meanwhile, their third original track from the heart goes even deeper and navigates around a smart vocal loop topped with strings, bleeps, claps and rimshots that just keeps going.

reform, the tuscan techno duo, make a return to etruria beat to follow up the success of 2017s ‘checkmate ep, remixed by amelie lens and their recent ep on second state with a huge new offering - unconventional spaces. reform present three fresh originals, backed by a massive rework from etruria boss luca agnelli. unconventional spaces is a melodic and timeless work, perfect for a magic sunrise closing set. luca delivers a heavier rework, creating a special atmosphere with powerful chords that drift back and forth. just this is characterised by a raw triple stab, a vocal laid down by the guys themselves and an emotional and mysterious break. closing the ep is span, which is composed of bouncing tom samples, straight hats and a moogy bass that develops throughout the arrangement, a perfect peaktime number and strong finalé.

fresh from starting his own label insult to injury, timothy clerkin returns to ransom note records with the knife edge heart ep. three tracks of stirring techno for dark basements and warm hearts. timothy is a very interesting man, but hes also the sort of person whod rather let his music do the talking, so well move on swiftly. the mvp here is knife edge heart, an unabashed pop song whose shimmering exterior is cut through with flashes of steely darkness. frequent collaborator natalie reiss’ glacial voice is held at the perfect level of remove, while timothy allows his love of shoegaze to blossom with a guitar line that seems to extend like a ladder to the stars. with you bridges timothys opposing impulses, balancing sparkling synths and a celestial vocal sample with churning low-end, while divisive is paranoid warehouse techno at its very best. with his debut solo album out soon on phantasy, gabe gurnsey of factory floor stops by for a lurching, seasick remix of knife edge heart that sounds like the onset of the robot apocalypse weve all been promised for so long. after cutting his teeth as one half of eskimo twins, timothy launched his solo career in 2014 under the now-retired heretic moniker. hes since released on labels including throne of blood, hard fist and days of being wild. timothys last release on rsn was the serenade ep, which brought us plenty of special moments last year - most memorably andrew weatherall closing out his houghton quarry set with execute. heres to many more this summer and beyond.

the masterful trio of timo mass, basti grub and eric volta showcase their combined musical muscle on the latest release forthcoming on supreme berlin imprint, mobilee. with an impressive remix package featuring rodriguez jr. and tiefschwarz. over two years in the making, ‚we were riding high‘ is a lucid after-hours track with an uplifting and catchy vocal hook that unfolds and develops fluidly. the alternative edit utilises dark synths and drums, retaining the positivity that make this track perfect for the last summer month. this record is the result of eric volta making the demo at an after-party at his studio. he then showed this to timo mass who in turn showed it to basti grub who loved the track so much, they were inspired to develop it. two time grammy nominated timo maas has an extensive musical background, spanning over thirty years. he’s worked with some of the world’s biggest stars including madonna, depeche mode and fatboy slim. basti grub heads up his own label, höhenregler, and is known for his exotic, african-influenced productions. he’s released on some premium labels including cocoon, get physical, desolate and cr2. born in london but very well traveled, eric volta shot into the spotlight with love your illusion and since releases on dirtybird, visionquest, four:twenty recordings among others.

first time on vinyl reissue (previously cd only) of mark van hoens 1998 masterpiece presented on a deluxe 2lp. playing with time perfectly showcases the lush and deep environments that can only arise from van hoen (locust, scala, seefeel). melody maker called it a mesh of loveliness. the sunday telegraph described it as the perfect, spacey chill-out album, and the sunday times had this to say: a sound that at its best has a positively spiritual quality about it. other accolades include sleazenation - at the cutting edge computer music a melange of jerky, cut-up sounds, stretched out ambience... that owes more to far-eastern music than to steve reich. and lastly, hifi world felt the sound scape is so deep and diverse that its accessible to anybody into laidback beats and soothing, beautiful noise. contains a side long bonus track best described as a modal eno-style classical ambient piece that was originally intended as a hidden track at the end of the original 1999 cd release.

berlin-based american kevin mchugh aka ambivalent is definitely no stranger to the scene. with r u ok on richie hawtins minus label he landed one of clublands absolute hits of 2007 which can still be found lurking in discerning dj’s record cases today. since 2015 he has been providing high quality tracks on his delft label, and he celebrated his cocoon debut two years ago with the daylights ep. together with dutch clone-producer martijn hoogendijk aka alden tyrell, ambivalent has cooked up another serving of straightforward techno complete with rigorous hi-hats, which will no doubt summon up the uncompromising energy of his berghain sets wherever its played. with its powerful incantation of sequential rave signals, wallfall recalls the best days of jeff mills in the form of ultra-modern detroit-oriented premium techno, while detente lays disconcerting industrial distortion over expansive dubtechno for maximum acceleration. the perfect fix for hot nights of celebration.

a compilation of minimal wave from around the world (1980-1991), the bedroom tapes features rare, unreleased, and licensed tracks all the way from belgium to australia to japan. the bedroom tapes excitedly marks minimal wave’s 66th release and is a follow up in the series to the lost tapes, the found tapes, the hidden tapes and of course the minimal wave tapes.

the debut ep from dj force & the evolution is a classic. not only was this ep the starting point to a run of huge releases by the group, including perfect dreams and high on life, it was also the beginning for darren styles as part of the evolution, and dj force, both of whom teamed up to bring the rave world numerous classics as years went by. but this ep was the beginning, and has long deserved a repress. the original pressing is changing hands for ridiculous amounts second hand, and this is the same three tracks, lovingly remastered and presented in their original format!

off-kilter broken beats from a collection of up & coming artists from around europe and beyond. a1. twelon - quad twelon heralds the start of the ep with a builder track perfect for openings and breakdowns mid set. industrial creeps and hisses, spliced with intricate percussion. a2. nollern - sitar pro nollern s eff_el & dan beaven burst forth to bring an upfront, yet minimalistic, glitch-rife drum track - perfect for the players wanting to layer an element of sparse, brutal breaks into the mix. b1. tlk - in your shadow tlk brings us a beautiful, emotion filled arp track. one of my goals when making a track, is to only use one sound: to make one synth sing. - linkwood. this is the inspiration that tlk used for in your shadow. b2. xantrax - xtk a trippy, jazzy combination of atmospheric synthesis, acoustic drums and a heavy bass-weight underlay, giving the ep a raw, yet balanced finish.

some time around 20 years ago, the artist known as dub surgeon made an absorbing album of beautiful dub infused with ambiance, found sounds and horizontal rhythms. the lost future was recorded at the former amsterdam film academy where dub surgeon. the recording engineer for the project was ricardo villalobos. dub surgeon and ricardo villalobos then mastered it together, putting it through several vintage mixers and recording it to 2 inch tape. then, tragedy struck: a storm surged and ignited a fire that ravaged the studio. the master copy was thought to have been lost forever. dub surgeon stopped making music and disappeared into the shadows after just two eps on future dub in 2002/3. but one day 15 years later, totally out of the blue, he received a demo of the lost future. pay attention to this, it said. attached was a demo version of the long lost album and now, finally, it has a perfect and impossibly poetic home on dubais ark to ashes, which is named in homage to the story of lee scratch perry burning down his black ark studio to rid it of demons. sounding as fresh as ever, the lost future is an authentic dub experience with a story as special as the music itself.

last spotted tomfooling as tryck & ton with edvin edvinsson, and prior to that as tiedye on mike simonettis italians do it better imprint, subversive swede anton klint makes his debut on simonettis latest label 2mr with two more vitally trippy, heavily dub-informed originals. ‘mun chugs at a stately 107. rippling in places, squiggling in others, theres an unabashed fx weirdness bubbling and popping over the insistent shimmering dubwise groove. tweaking, freaking but running at such a smooth temper theres space between the chaos, anton is balancing some heavily hypnotic alchemy here. ‘strupe takes things even lower and slower. a dusty bluesy chugger, unhurried-yet-relentlessly building with a great sense of cosmic drama, listen and marvel as more elements are precision introduced throughout the seven minute trip. a masterclass in modern day honkytonk. remix-wise were thrusted into the later hours with a technoid twist from andre laos. maintaining antons originals trippy charm and measured pace but re-amping it with grittier foundation, teasing risers and an insurgent synth strike, its the perfect complement to one of 2mrs most singular releases to date. open wide.

berlin duo local suicide and mexican producer mijo join forces to deliver two stunning original works for the latest installment of roam recordings. edo kai tora is a uptempo main time jam with a nice vocal weaved through driving electronic stylings. ganz falsch has an electro boogie feel with cosmic synths and a fun vocal rhythmically tying it all together.

supporting the ep are two excellent remixes from renowned artists sascha funke and simple symmetry. sascha funke s elegantly dark version creeps in with a hypnotic and captivating energy while simple symmetry moves into party mode with pop sensible guitars and heavy wonkiness perfect for picking up the vibe at any party.

all four tracks are standouts on their own and together form an outstanding versatile ep and excellent addition to the roam recordings catalogue.

for those that knoe delves deeper into the archives once more to repackage a bundle of hard to find cuts on vinyl that have been staple supplies in ben s record bag over the years. the early to mid 2000s was a period of minimal techno overload, finding quality house music then was a challenge compared to today. rather than follow the herd, some european producers took influence from the original minimal pioneers and fused those approaches with house music themes in order to push a unique sound of the era. they turned minimal on its head and gave took it in a different direction. canson from switzerland released a handful of records between 2002 and 2005 that were a prime example of this aesthetic. stripped back beats with syncopated melodies - perfect cuts for those early sets or hazy morning sessions. the three tracks featured on this compilation were originally released on two solo eps for canson: itsudemo and holiday plug in, both of which have claimed squatter s rights in my record bag for almost 15 years. i don t think i ve played one early slot or house set without one of them. this record is quite a personal one for me as it s a representation of my deeper sound as a dj. now the original records are a little hard to find so im so glad to share my choice picks of cansons material on a my label.

this is the debut release on noir music from brazilian k.a.l.i.l. we have been working quite some time to perfect this first release from him on the label and give it the edge needed to stand out. after tons of road-testing and going back and forth with production ideas i am now happy to have 2 perfect tracks ready from k.a.l.i.l. that really showcase his super solid techno sound and production flair. “involved” (co-produced with any mello) is a quite simple trip with any’s spoken word in center of industrial elements wobling it and out. this track works really well in the clubs because of its on point minimalism, the high intensity stacatto synths and the catchy vocal line from any. it’s not easy to do big tracks without big basslines – but that’s what k.a.l.i.l. and any mello truely achieved with this one. “revolved” is a track i signed already last year and since then k.a.l.i.l. has been perfecting everything about the track from small details to bigger arrangement improvements. this track has that big bassline that sits right in your face. it also has the right build for those peaktime moments in the clubs. i have been playing “revolved” a lot over the past months and people go crazy for those big bass drops. we are honored to have another great producer join the noir music family and proud to have another belter of a release ready for you.

harlem s legendary disco label queen constance has long been a cult favourite among fans of underground dance music for decades. one of many labels operating under the equally legendary p&p family of imprints queen constance was operated by one peter brown, a truly colossal figure in nyc s music scene, it s catalogue still fascinates music lovers to this day. covering a wide range of styles including gospel, early rap and disco the label s output continually finds it way into the playlists of respected dj s and selectors across the globe. high fidelity will be the first in a series of queen constance rarities to be reissued, an extremely rare and coveted record that can change hands on the second hand market for big big money, avoid those low rent bootlegs that are out there and cop this fully licensed repress. the group s self-titled sole long-player is a fantastic 6 track set of gritty, soulful and uplifting funky disco with a diy edge. not too much is known about the artists themselves, or even when the record was performed, recorded or released but it certainly sounds like a group who knew their craft inside out. the energy is high across the record and the group sound like they re on fire, just check the outrageously funkified magic carpet and you ll see what we mean. amazing. the whole project has that enchanting lo-fi, back-street feel to it in terms of production and the mind boggles as to how such a record would have come off had it been recorded at a motown or any other big studio, but no matter as this release is perfect the way it is, an essential piece of street-level nyc disco straight from the underground.

croatian producer ilija rudman returns to classic with his funk-drenched ‘lovers change minds’. well-known for his distinctive analogue-disco sound, the record’s delivery on 12” vinyl comes as a perfect pairing. he remains reverent to his well-rounded retro style with heavily filtered soft vocals complimented by a deep 70s-centric bassline. hot toddy’s bass-focused mixes come laden with electric guitar riffs and synth flares for an even slicker groove on ilija’s smoothly minimalist masterpiece.

tatu metsätähti and tatu peltonen formed their electro duo mr velcro fastener in the small town of turku, finland back in 1995. in 1999, after a couple of twelve inches, they released their first full length album ‘lucky bastards living up north’ on i220, which was well noted (not only for its hyper colourful cover art by the designers republic). the album took the duo touring in europe and overseas, and led to further releases on labels like stars-music, ali b’s air recordings, solina records, cyber dance and of course billy nasty’s electrix, as well as remixes for the likes of hardfloor, marco carola, dk8, transparent sound and aux88. returning to electrix with their third full ep for the label (and a gap of 13 years!) they have delivered their own unique and recognizable electro sound with two new cuts. ‘a monster in two worlds’ with its electro-funk sound, classic vocoded vocals and grinding groove is a perfect opener, while ‘bakteriofag’ (bacteriophage in english) like its name, creeps up like a virus, infecting the senses with its crisp and shining melody. additionally, there’s remixes of ‘a monster in two worlds’ from silicon scally (carl finlow in his electro guise) and m-twelve (the new moniker recently launched by billy nasty and surface’s nick dunton) to complete the line-up.

bruno pronsato returns with his new album, a face wasted on the theatre, written & produced in collaboration with the israeli musician, yonatan levi.
pronsato and levi have been collaborating intermittently since 2014, with levi adding bass guitar to tracks on both pronsato’s us drag lp from last year and 2016’s ndf ep, cruel is the color, as well as contrabass on a track on pronsato’s archangel lp from 2014.
written in the afternoons and between two different studios in berlin’s prenzlauer berg, the album spans eight tracks, with yonatan levi playing on bass guitar on six of them. it also features guest appearances by downtown composer/producer peter gordon and israeli saxophonist yonatan yudkowitz on “bring me a kill.”

the caribbean house is a new billy bogus project. it’s the perfect meld of creepy atmospheres, sunset grooves, analog sensibilities and incessant rhythms. bogus leads this collective formed by federico bologna (ohmega tribe, technogod) and cristiano santini (disciplinatha, dish-is-nein,). this triumvirate of 90 s underground italian masterminds come from the world of electronica, noise rock and psychedelia. here they all combine to rise again rise and unite to create something entirely new.

limited edition of 2000 numbered copies on pink and yellow 180 gram vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve. groove armada’s fifth studio album “soundboy rock” is an unpredictable mix of breakbeats, trip hop and electro-driven songs. the diversity and continuity of their previous work lovebox is combined with some exciting heaviness. they offer so much diversity that every musical fan will get it’s taste of their great production skills. mc stush shares her vocals on the hooked single “get down”. the eighties pop and new wave comes together on the glorious “song 4 mutya (out of control)”. the productions sounds perfect and the vocals turn out well.
the electronic music duo andy cato and tom findlay took their first step in the music scene when they were working together in the music club groove armada. later on they released a couple of big hits, including “my friend” and “superstylin’”.

to conclude the unsung and defeated series we turned our attention to the distopic wave group wavering hands. the duo comes from bern and zurich, and this is their first vinyl release. the use of real drums, guitars and vocals is an unusual field for us, nevertheless, as it is clear now, we have shown no fear in going wherever our interest take us. and this time is pure new wave, kraut rock inspired music. a perfect ending for this series of unsung and defeated local heroes.

das heise experiment 2- marks the 6th album of the exaltics. lovely presented on double 10- vinyl with full cover artwork from non other than the mighty godspill, who also designed the pre release of this album with an amazing looking shape picture disc. to hold things special the guys from solaronemusic put a full comic with the story of -das heise experiment- in each record. the music ranges from dark experimental techno, electro, ambient and soundtrackish nightmares which goes perfect with the story of the comic. also drexciya s gerald donald collaborates with the exaltics for one track , which is one of the highlights of the album. this music is nothing for the club its much more, a complete story to feel. turn your headphones on and dive into the world of aliens, scientists and distant gallaxies. all records come with a comic book!!!

its a captivating encounter when a producer of relative anonymity bursts onto the scene with an exciting and engaging release, that you re drawn back to again and again, wondering how you ve never heard of them before. porto producer pedro, & washington dc vocalist jenna camille have achieved exactly that with this first release on the mighty wolf music recordings. the influences from jazz though to soul, rnb & broken beat are weaved deep within this record. you re drawn in from the off with an intro of stripped back pianos behind an emotional spoken word monologue from jenna, before it opens up into a beatsy, rnb infused groove. having pulled you in float hits you with a richness of synth textures, layers of broken beats and dreamy chords alongside jennas float mantra hypnotising you deeper and deeper. reaching the last section of the track though you re woken from that hypnotic groove with a switch to a raw and energetic breakbeat sure to get any crowd moving. keep it h 2000 , the final track on the a side, has a real flavour of fatima to it emanating from jenna s blissful vocals - laid over the top of sustained rhodes, weighty synth lines and dynamic drums. flip it over and there s a tougher intensity to future dance (it ll be ok) , coupling rhythmic stabs with jazzy chord progressions, laced behind a groove that wouldn t be out of place lighting up the floor at a co-op night. to close out the e.p. you re given a sensory overload through jenna s staggered, overlaid vocals panned to come at you from every angle its the perfect outro to both stun you and leave you wanting more. and if this extremely well-polished, first key release is a sign of things to come, pedros name will be becoming a lot more familiar in years to come. support from afronaught (bugz in the attic), bradley zero, henry wu, lefto, atjazz & osunlade

following on from the epic hammer e.p. and subsequent remix package, loft records return for their 7th release enlisting the expertise of crawford to provide two original tracks with remixes from brame & hamo and kiwi. ‘we go back is a soaring synth driven stomper - building around dynamic arps and heavy bass synths, before a driving kick and soaring pads are brought to the fore to create an expertly produced big room anthem. techno rhumba is a chuggier affair laced with spring reverb, floaty arpeggiators, expansive stabs and brooding chords perfect for those early hours of a night. on the flip side, irish duo brame & hamo are first up to take on remix duties for we go back . they rework the arp lines and pads for the intro before dropping it into a tougher techno workout of heavy duty synth stabs, epic ride cymbals and dreamy textures. kiwi then close out with their reimagining of we go back combining a killer tom pattern with those soaring arpeggiators that seem to endlessly resonate around your brain. two great reinterpretations of what was already an amazing track

clandestine boogie are back, enlisting omsk s sunner soul to provide the goods for their third release. the title track voyager 84 sets the scene perfectly drawing you in with dreamy swelling synths, fizzing hats, and chunky hits alongside choice lo-fi vocal snippets & cosmic top lines - smooth as you like! kim and buran then steer things on a funkier flex with their take on voyager 84 . staccato guitars laid over the top of a heavy bassline, succulent pads and spacey keys provide an intergalactic disco journey with you strapped in the front seat. on the flip side sunner soul team up with fellow russian producer, scruscru. spring mood picks up the tempo working bouncing arps and wobbly synths behind a thumping rhythm - a killer slice of disco tinged house as we move into those sunshine months. closing out the e.p. it s peak time, boogie laden, blissful goodness in the form of joy . funk-fueled guitar licks, an instantly catchy melody and the perfect amount of effects to enhance those build ups and break downs lay the foundations for a sure fire summer hit!
